Welcome to Isaan! Meet your local guide and tour leader upon arrival in Udon Thani and start your journey in Northeast-Thailand. In case you haven’t had breakfast yet, your guide and tour leader will take you to a local place before leaving Udon Thani (breakfast is on your own expenses). Leaving Udon Thani behind, we continue to Kho Khiao homestay and farm where we stay overnight. Along the way we have a coffee stop in a local cafe (expenses on your own). After a 2 hour ride it’s time to check-in at Kho Khiao Homestay and farm. Take some time to get settled and soak in the beautiful surroundings of this family-run haven in a traditional Isaan village before enjoying your first home-cooked meal at the homestay. After lunch you can choose to relax and soak in the beautiful mountain views, or you can participate in several farm activities like collecting eggs, tending to the cattle or harvesting seasonal fruits and vegetables. Your guide and tour leader are also happy to show you around in the village by bike and/or take you up the nearby mountain for a beautiful hike to a cave and the local temple with stunning views of the area. Before dinner is served in the homestay, feel free to have a look in the kitchen and after dinner you can enjoy your free time at leisure.

Get an early start of your day to participate in the Buddhist tradition of alms giving to receive your blessing from the local monks. After this, it’s time for breakfast before saying goodbye to the family of the Kho Khiao homestay and start this long travel day to Nakhon Phanom. First stop is Na Wa village that is famous for some surprising home industries. Most families in this village make a living from rice farming, but to supplement their income several families are drying gecko’s, earthworms and leeches to sell internationally. Your guide and tour leader will take you on a walk around the village and tell you all about village life in Isaan. Enjoy a local lunch along the way before continuing to Sakhon Nakhon city. Here, you embark on a late afternoon boat ride on the beautiful Nong Han lake, the largest fresh water lake in Isaan, home to many species of wildlife. Visit the mystical island of Don Sawan before returning to the pier. Dinner is served in a restaurant that has been a favorite for many locals over the years. After dinner it’s time to relax and sit back for the last lap at your hotel in Nakhon Phanom city. Check-in upon arrival at your hotel. Enjoy your free evening or soak up the first views of the Mekong river and Laos on the other side during a relaxing evening stroll along the boulevard.

After breakfast in your hotel it’s time to hop on an Isaan-style tuk tuk to the starting point of the Co van Kessel bike and boat tour exploring Nakhon Phanom city the way only Co van Kessel can do. Finish the tour with a boat ride over the mighty Mekong river cruising along the Thai and Lao border. After the Co van Kessel tour you can enjoy lunch on your own before visiting a village that preserves the craft of pottery and where you will be encouraged to give it a go yourself. Your guide and tour leader will take you for a walk around the village along the rice fields and rubber plantations. On the way back you visit the house of Ho Chi Minh, who stayed here between 1924 and 1931 while planning Vietnam’s independence. Take a short time to relax before hopping on a local tuk tuk to the place where your farewell ceremony and dinner will take place. According to Isaan tradition, a Bai Sri Su Kwan ceremony is performed to wish well upon those who embark on a new journey. After the well-wishes it’s time to enjoy your farewell dinner accompanied with a local dance performance. A perfect way to say goodbye to the local people and to end your journey through Isaan. After dinner a local tuk tuk will take you back to your hotel.

Booking Policy:
- Package with Accommodation: Our team will confirm your booking and send a Co Van Kessel Voucher with full details in a PDF file within 3 days after booking.
- Local Thai Holidays and New Year: Bookings must be made 7-15 days in advance.

Cancellation Policy:
- 20-30 Days before arrival: Charge 30% of the full duration of the reserved stay.
- 08-19 Days before arrival: Charge 50% of the full duration of the reserved stay.
- 01-07 Days before arrival or NO Show: Charge 100% of the full duration of the reserved stay.

Free Cancellation:
