Overview

Enjoy a 2D1N stay at the beautiful River Kwai Jungle Rafts in Kanchanaburi, while learning more about the World War 2-history and traditional Mon-culture. Walk the iconic Bridge over the River Kwai, ride the train on the Thailand-Burma Railway and visit the Hellfire Pass, together with other significant landmarks. All while soaking up the beautiful landscape of Kanchanaburi.

Day 1. Bangkok – Kanchanaburi – River Kwai Jungle Rafts
• Early pick up (6:00-6:30) from centrally located Bangkok hotels before heading to Kanchanaburi province (128km. west from Bangkok).
• In Kanchanaburi visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, dedicated to the history of the Thailand–Burma Railway. Continue to the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery to commemorate over 6000 allied prisoners of war(POWs). Walk over the famous Bridge over the River Kwai, part of Death Railway that was constructed by Allied POWs.
• Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
• Visit the Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre that depicts the hardship experienced by those working on the Thailand-Burma Railway. Here you can descend the long set of stairs behind the museum to Hellfire Pass Memorial Walking Trail following the original rail bed. We then continue to Phutakien pier and take a long-tailed boat from Phutakien pier to your accommodation at River Kwai for check-in.
• Dinner at your accommodation.
• Enjoy a Mon dance performance, before enjoying the rest of your evening at your leisure.

Day 2. River Kwai Jungle Rafts  – traditional Mon village - Bangkok
• Breakfast at your accommodation.
• Visit a traditional Mon village, where the Mon people have lived for generations. Visit the Golden Rock, the Buddha image cave and the village school. Enjoy a short walk on an easy jungle trail along the riverbank to get to the stunning viewpoint of River Kwai. Then return to your accommodation for check-out.
• Take a long-tail boat to Phutakien pier and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
• Take a train ride on the Death Railway Train crossing the wooden viaduct constructed by Allied POWs.
• Transfer back to Bangkok and drop off at your hotel. Transfers to other destinations should be arranged separately. We are happy to assist.

Extra charges apply.
• This tour is not wheelchair accessible.
• No refunds are offered for skipped meals or portions of the tour program.
